Everyone coming to help at Lafana Institute of Hope needs to heed the following policies for your own protection and for the interests of Lafana:

1 - Take no photographs without the consent of the person or persons being photographed. Children cannot give you permission to photograph them.

2 - No photos of unclothed infants or juveniles under any circumstances or for any reason. Children photographed with permission of adults must be clothed.  Patients photographed must be modestly covered. Please make sure photos do not show any child's or adult's private parts.

3 - Stay with your Lafana work group at all times

4 - No trips alone to local beaches. Always go in a group.

5 - No photos of Lafana children without Marie's permission

6 - No photos to be taken at neighbors' houses

7 - No intentional contact with other charitable organizations for the duration of your tour with Lafana

We know this may seem rather strict, but these policies are for our mutual protection and benefit. Thanks in advance for obeying them.

We are in great need of doctors, nurses, medical technicians, dentists, construction workers, teachers in any field, and any skilled or unskilled willing workers to help with our project. The children need medical care and education, and we need workers to help us to build new facilities (housing, school, and medical building.)  Helping hands are needed just to break down bulk packages of medicines into individual bottles or baggies. The greatest physical needs are for food and medicine, both of which must be carried in via passenger baggage.  Other needs include clothing, school supplies, and French Bibles. Workers must pay for their own air fare, local food, and local transportation, but Lafana will make arrangements for your housing. Purchasing airline tickets two or three months in advance is advised, as prices are significantly lower. CONCERT & DINNER

Our orphanage was severely flooded by Hurricane Sandy, leaving the children with no place to stay, sleep or to attend school.
To generate funds, we are having a concert followed by a dinner of delicious Haitian, Jamaican and American food. We urge you to attend this fund raiser, as we are planning a trip to Haiti on Monday, December 17th to assess the damage and to bring in much needed supplies of all sorts, including medicines.  Thanks in advance for your help.  It is much appreciated!
